Saraceni Choir

Saraceni Choir

Founded in 1951 by Maestro Franco Maria Saraceni at the main campus of Sapienza University of Rome, the Coro degli Universitari di Roma (Rome University Choir) was the first and, for many years, the only non-professional university choir on the Roman music scene.

In its 70 years of existence, it has performed in over 800 concerts, both in Italy and abroad, offering more than 3,000 singers the opportunity to spread and share their passion for choral music.

The Choir invites all students and the entire Sapienza community who are interested in choral activities to participate, even if only out of curiosity: no particular preparation is required, apart from enthusiasm and a love of music.

If you would like to try joining the choir, click on this link or visit the choir's Facebook page. Participation is free for all members of the Sapienza community!

Rehearsals take place every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. in the crypt of the University Chapel, located within the University Campus. Access is through the door on the left side of the facade.
